like andy, i have blogged my (hopefully) last entry on
SHINJUKUPORE, to sort of close the chapter on the trip of our lives. i remember a month before i left, marcia from work gave me a really good piece of advice, while im there, to just enjoy whatever and however i can, because we will never have the same chance again, to leave a country with nothing holding us back, no work to bother about, no studies to wory about. and im glad i followed her advice, and gone and enjoyed myself thoroughly.
pictures of the trip have been put up till day 7, but i will persevere and finish everything to day 10, and 11, when i get pictures from dy. pictures from day one can be linked from here:
Tokyo Travels Day 1am starting on a tuition mission soon, to try and tutor a sec 4 boy english - hope i will be able to work something out there. =)
now that we're back in singapore, am trying to think how to not irritate people with sentences that start with, "When I was in Tokyo.." haha.
okay, i just realised if im not gg to do that, i have absolutely nothing much of value to say. HEH.
oh, one more thing: the song featured on top of the post is something the seattle mariners play in the seventh inning break. its quite cute. ask if you want it. =)

IM BACKK! =)) have been hearing this song on the streets and on tv in japan countless times, not too bad..
having a bit of missing japan here now, remembering the waking up in the hotel and walking down the streets of kabuki-cho.. thats why im eating my yakisoba snack right now, it really tastes like yakisoba, by the way.
am really proud of SHINJUKUPORE, we did really diligently update it and everything.
had a crap load of fun in tokyo, we went almost everywhere, that even japanese we met were surprised that we've been to more places than they have. met some great people, seen some great views, fulfilled some dreams. love everything i bought there.. dunno whether they really would be used here, but i love everything.
but come to think of it, singapore isn't tt bad either. the food here rocks as well, and home is always the best, where you have the most comfortable bed, and the most comfortable room. when i saw the singapore flyer from the plane, i was rather touched. japan was a whirlwind of eleven days, and im glad i managed to enjoy it with some of my closest friends.

i have changed my blog template! just happened to visit blogskins.com today, and i saw this one as skin of the day for april 4th. loved the flowers and the colour scheme, so i decided, ah what the heck. pretty innit? =) happy.
i changed it here and there to tweak it to my liking a little bit. like i need to justify my words. and i dont like georgia font. >_<

april 3rd - andy's 21st! finally finally my dearest has reached adulthood. HAHA! lao le lao le. his birthday meant we're getting closer to japan as well. isnt april GREAT! =)) i brought him his present, and yay he liked it! im not gg to say what it was though. paiseh lah. and then we went to indulgz at tan quee lan for dinner. im so glad i chose the place, because we had a superb dinner, and on a tertiary students' promotion thingie as well, so it was really value for money.

loved the atmosphere when we first went stepped through the door, dimly lit, with flowers and candles and comfortable booths. whoopee! all the pictures were enhanced - we couldnt really take pictures without the flash as it was too dark, and we felt the flash was a bit distracting to other diners.

dy with his drink. he's probably happy because he ordered his favourite dish - chicken chicken chicken. cooked any way.

the soup course - it was tomato and basil, and rich enough to be appetising, but not too overpowering. even andy the non-tomato person liked it. yumm.

there, his chicken. if i remember correctly the full name of the dish was honey garlic chicken something, served with carrots and zucchinis and mash. it was really good, as in reallly. we were pleasantly surprised at the first taste. juicy, with the honey's sweetness cutting through, yet not losing the deliciousness of the chicken leg (that was deboned, by the way). five stars with additional mini stars. it was that good.

and my miso chicken mushroom linguine. miso is an interesting taste to get used to, but the pasta was great, it was the most pasta i have ever seen in any dish, by the way. i dunno why my secret garden served their pasta in such small portions - tsk tsk. not worth it. this was generous with their portion, and it was not too bad.

we finished everything! woohoo!

for dessert we had their specialty - the earl grey panna cotta. and i can safely say we weren't disappointed. both of us loooovee earl grey, and so the panna cotta infused with earl grey was just the thing, wow. i love love it. i would go back just to have that.

and it made me finish every single spoon! yummy yummy! i will go back for it u know. sompat.
well, when i first read about the place on xiaxue's blog (okay, i sometimes do read it, for laughs) i was already kind of intrigued by the food they served. and i think i left feeling completely satisfied. and i love being a student. wahaha. i used to go to tan quee lan for dessert with chef calvin and billy, that was before it was refurbished and everything. now walking down that street you could smell lavender in the air coming from the spas, and see the dhl balloon rising in the air. =)
